GARDENA, CA (April 9, 2026) The City of Gardena is preparing to hold a Statewide Direct Primary Election on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Residents are encouraged to review their voting options early, including vote-by-mail, secure ballot drop boxes, and in-person vote centers.
What is on the ballot in Gardena
Five offices will be filled in the upcoming election:
Mayor
Two City Council seats
City Treasurer
City Clerk
The office of Mayor will be decided in this election, with incumbent Mayor Tasha Cerda seeking re-election.
WAYS TO VOTE
Vote by Mail
A vote-by-mail ballot will be mailed to active registered voters.
Mail ballots will begin going out by May 4, 2026.

KEY DEADLINES
Last day to register to vote: May 18, 2026
If the registration deadline is Mayor Tasha Cerda missed, you may still be able to register and vote through conditional voter registration starting May 19, 2026.
